  1. Jayme says:

    The Replacements

  2. KC in ATX says:

Very entertaining for the first round. In the Elite Eight, you started picking the most nostalgic movies instead of the best movies, and I found myself watching all the great movies being whittled away by lesser foes. Except Hoosiers. Hoosiers deserved to lose.

In the end, the movie I strongly consider to be the most over-rated and nearly the worst sports movie of all time was your “best”. You’ve inspired me to write a blog post about how wrong you were.

    • Tom says:

Please link to your blog post when you do, I’m very interested. I never voted for that horribly over-rated movie, so it’s great to have some support on my side.

    • Abinadi says:

KC in ATX, I couldn’t disagree more. Hoosiers is the definition of good sports movie. And the fact that you think Rudy is the worst sports movie of all time completely discredits your whole argument. I’m also looking forward to your blog post so I can see how you back up these outrageous claims!

  3. Austin says:

Highlight: The right movie being selected for best sports movie of all time. I didn’t agree with how we got there (Field of Dreams snubbed WAY too early) but Rudy was right. Right right right. It’s GREAT. Watched it again today to relive its greatness.

Lowlight: Tom complaining about every single movie he’s never seen. lol. It was hysterical, but come on Tom. Watch a sports movie.

  4. Emily Mac says:

You’re right; it was a great one!

    – I love that a woman’s sport’s movie made it so far to the top.
    – Cool Runnings is so good. Thank you for including it.
    – Tom stating “Oh come on…I can’t make this choice!” when you guys were split between Rocky and Cinderella Man (My vote is for The Fighter!)

    – Abinadi – don’t hate on Keanu. He’s my favorite and so is The Replacements. It would have won had Austin stuck with his most attractive male lead criteria.
“I love to see a fat guy score. Because first you get a fat guy spike, then you get the fat guy dance.”
    – Tom – sometimes you need to leave your opinions about LOTR out of the discussion.

    • Abinadi says:

Emily, I recently watched The Replacements. I agree that it is an entertaining sports movie. Does that mean that Keanu is a good actor? Frankly, it does not. He is still a bad actor, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t entertaining.

Also, spot-on about Tom leaving out his LOTR opinions. It really has no place in a sports movie discussion… or any other discussion… ever.
